Ibanez produced the PF15ECENT as part of the PF Series, positioning it as a cutaway dreadnought acoustic-electric aimed at players who required onboard electronics alongside a full-bodied acoustic platform. The model carried a Natural High Gloss finish.
The guitar was built with a spruce top over Nyatoh back and sides, with a Nyatoh neck and Nandu Wood fretboard and bridge. White dot inlays marked the fretboard positions, and a black and white multi-layer rosette surrounded the soundhole. Chrome die-cast tuners handled tuning duties, while plastic nut and saddle components and Ibanez Advantage bridge pins completed the hardware fit. The 20-fret neck measured 42mm at the nut and seated at a 250mm radius, with a scale length of 650mm. Electronics consisted of an Ibanez undersaddle pickup routed through an Ibanez AEQ-2T preamp with an onboard tuner, outputting via a standard 1/4" jack. The instrument shipped strung with a .012–.053 gauge set at standard E-A-D-G-B-E tuning, with 11mm string spacing at the bridge.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including undersaddle pickups, Nandu Wood bridges, or AEQ-2T preamp units — or requiring setup work on the neck, nut, or saddle should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with acoustic-electric instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
