Ibanez produced the PC12MHOPN as part of the PF Series, positioning it as a steel-string acoustic built around a Grand Concert body format with an Open Pore Natural finish. The model carried Ibanez's Mahogany Open Pore designation — the "MH" in the SKU — indicating the open-pore surface treatment applied to the natural finish rather than a conventional gloss or satin coat.
The instrument was constructed with a Sapele top, back, and sides, paired with a PC/Nyatoh neck. The fretboard and bridge are both Nandu Wood, inlaid with white dot position markers and a tortoiseshell soundhole rosette. Hardware consisted of chrome open-gear tuners, plastic nut and saddle, and Ibanez Advantage bridge pins strung with Ibanez IACS6C strings gauged .012/.016/.024/.032/.042/.053. The neck measured 42mm at the nut, with a 250mmR fretboard radius, a scale length of 634mm, and neck thickness of 21.5mm at the first fret tapering to 23.5mm at the seventh. The body reached a maximum depth of 4¼ inches across its 19¼-inch length, with an overall lower-bout width of 15¼ inches and 20 frets in total.
Owners requiring bridge pin replacements, nut or saddle swaps, or setup work should consult a qualified guitar technician, who can verify correct sizing against the stated nut width and string spacing of 11mm.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
