Ibanez built the PC12MHCEOPN as part of the PF Series, positioning it as an electro-acoustic grand concert cutaway with an open pore natural finish. The cutaway body configuration gave the player access to the upper register of the fretboard, while the undersaddle pickup and onboard preamp made the instrument ready for amplified use without modification.
The body was constructed with a sapele top, back and sides — a single tonewood family used throughout the body. The neck, listed as PC/Nyatoh construction, carried a nandu wood fretboard and matching nandu wood bridge, with white dot inlays and a tortoiseshell soundhole rosette providing the visual reference points along the neck and body. Hardware was finished in chrome, with open gear tuners at the headstock. Plastic nut and saddle materials were fitted at the factory, and Ibanez Advantage bridge pins secured the strings. Electronics consisted of an Ibanez undersaddle pickup paired with the AEQ-2T preamp, which incorporated an onboard tuner. The nut width measured 42mm, scale length 634mm, and the neck profile measured 21.5mm at the first fret and 23.5mm at the seventh, with a 250mm radius fretboard. The instrument shipped strung with Ibanez IACS6C strings gauged .012–.053 and tuned to standard pitch.
Owners requiring setup work, nut or saddle replacement, or parts sourcing for the hardware and electronics on this model should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with acoustic-electric instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
