- Indigo Blue Burst High Gloss
Ibanez built the ALT30IBB as part of the Altstar Series, positioning it as an acoustic-electric with a distinctive body profile — the Altstar body shape — set apart from the brand's more conventional dreadnought and concert offerings. The Indigo Blue Burst High Gloss finish marked it as a visually distinct entry within the line.
The ALT30IBB was constructed with a spruce top over sapele back and sides, with a maple neck joined to a walnut fretboard and walnut bridge. Ibanez fitted the guitar with chrome die-cast tuners, plastic nut and saddle, and Ibanez Advantage bridge pins. The fretboard carries 22 frets and an Altstar specially designed inlay pattern. Electronics consist of an Ibanez Undersaddle pickup routed through an Ibanez AEQ2UT preamp with onboard tuner, outputting via a standard 1/4" jack. The instrument shipped strung with Ibanez IACS61C strings gauged .010/.014/.023/.030/.039/.047. The scale measures 648mm, nut width is 43mm, and string spacing at the bridge is 10.5mm. Neck dimensions run 20mm thick at the first fret and 21mm at the seventh, with a 400mm radius fretboard.
Owners needing setup assistance, fret work, or help sourcing compatible replacement components — including undersaddle pickups, walnut bridge saddles, or die-cast tuner replacements — should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier familiar with acoustic-electric instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
