Ibanez positioned the AEWC400IBB within the AEW Series as an electro-acoustic instrument built around the AEWC specially designed comfort body — a format Ibanez developed to ease playability relative to conventional dreadnought or jumbo proportions. The body is constructed entirely from Flamed Maple — top, back, and sides — paired with a Walnut fretboard and Ibanez's AEWC original top-loading Walnut bridge. The neck is the AEWC Asymmetric comfort profile in Nyatoh. Fretting runs to 20 frets, with off-set white dot inlays and an Abalone soundhole rosette.
