- Finish
- Vintage Violin High Gloss
Ibanez built the AEG70VVH as part of its AEG Series, a line of thinline acoustic-electric guitars designed around a compact, reduced-depth body. The model carried a Vintage Violin High Gloss finish and was positioned as an amplifiable acoustic instrument with onboard electronics integrated into the body.
The AEG70VVH featured a Flamed Maple top over Sapele back and sides, with a Nyatoh neck profiled to Ibanez's AEG specification. The Walnut fretboard ran to 20 frets and carried white dot inlays, while a matching Walnut bridge anchored Ibanez Advantage bridge pins and a plastic saddle. Hardware included chrome die-cast tuners and a plastic nut set at 43mm width. Electronics consisted of an Ibanez T-bar II undersaddle pickup routed through an Ibanez AEQ-TTS preamp with an onboard tuner, outputting through a standard 1/4" jack. The instrument shipped strung with Ibanez IACSP6C strings in a .012–.053 gauged set at 11mm string spacing, with scale length measured at 634mm and a fretboard radius of 400mmR.
Owners requiring setup work, nut or saddle replacement, or assistance identifying compatible bridge pins and strings for this instrument should consult a qualified guitar technician or luthier familiar with thinline acoustic-electric construction.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
