Ibanez built the AEB10EDVS as part of its AEB Series acoustic bass line, positioning it as an amplification-ready acoustic bass with an onboard Fishman Sonicore pickup and Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp. The preamp included an onboard tuner and offered both a balanced XLR and a 1/4" output, making the instrument suitable for direct connection to a mixing board or a dedicated amplifier.
The body featured a spruce top with sapele back and sides, and the AEB body profile accommodated a 22-fret purpleheart fretboard on an okoume neck. The purpleheart bridge carried black bridge pins with white dot inlays, matching the white dot fretboard inlays and abalone soundhole rosette. Hardware consisted of chrome die-cast tuners, plastic nut and saddle, and a 43mm nut width. The scale measured 812.8mm, with a neck radius of 400mmR and string spacing of 19mm at the bridge. Factory stringing followed a standard 4-string E–A–D–G arrangement with gauges .040/.060/.075/.095.
