Ibanez built the AEB105ENT as a five-string acoustic-electric bass within the AEB Series, positioning it for players who required extended low-end range in an acoustic format. The instrument carried a Fishman Sonicore pickup paired with Ibanez's AEQ-SP2 preamp, which included an onboard tuner, and offered both a balanced XLR output and a standard quarter-inch output — accommodating direct connection to a PA system as well as conventional amplification.
The body used a spruce top over sapele back and sides. The maple neck carried a purpleheart fretboard and purpleheart bridge, with 22 frets, a 47mm nut width in bone, and a bone saddle. The radius measured 400mmR, with a neck thickness of 23.5mm at the first fret and 25.5mm at the seventh. String spacing at the bridge was 16.5mm, and the instrument shipped with a five-string set gauged .040/.060/.075/.095/.130 in standard B-through-G tuning. An abalone soundhole rosette, white dot inlays, chrome die-cast tuners, and black bridge pins with white dots completed the hardware complement. Scale length was 812.8mm.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including bone nut blanks, purpleheart saddle stock, Fishman Sonicore pickup elements, or compatible bridge pins — should consult a qualified luthier or guitar technician who can verify fit against the instrument's specific dimensions before installation.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
