Ibanez positioned the ACFS380BTOPS within its Artwood Series as a stage-ready acoustic-electric, built around a cutaway grand concert body with a deeper body depth and a solid Engelmann Spruce top braced with scalloped X bracing. The open pore semi-gloss finish was applied across the body, leaving the wood surface with a more natural, uncoated feel than a high-gloss alternative.
The five-piece African Mahogany and Pau Ferro neck carries a thin C profile with rounded fretboard edges, topped with a Macassar Ebony fretboard over 20 frets. Pau Ferro was used for the back, sides, and soundhole rosette — the rosette including soundhole binding — while the bridge, bridge pins, and fretboard share an ebony theme. Nut and saddle were both specified as unbleached oil-impregnated bone. The electronics package combined an Ibanez T-bar undersaddle pickup with a block contact pickup, routed through an Ibanez DP1 preamp and terminated at a dual output jack supporting both mono and stereo connections. The factory stringing was D'Addario EXP23 in a non-standard tuning: B, F#, D, A, E, B from first to sixth string.
Owners requiring setup work, bridge pin replacement, or compatibility guidance for saddle and nut dimensions should consult a qualified luthier or experienced guitar technician, referencing the stated scale length, nut width, and string spacing figures for accurate part matching.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
