Ibanez built the AC340OPN as part of the Artwood Series, positioning it as a grand concert acoustic guitar with an open pore natural finish. The Artwood line was developed around solid tonewoods and traditional acoustic construction, and the AC340OPN sat within that range as a solidly appointed instrument centered on Okoume throughout its body.
The top is solid Okoume, paired with Okoume back and sides. The neck is Ibanez's AC profile in Nyatoh, topped with an Ovangkol fretboard across 20 frets, with white dot inlays and a black and white multi-ring soundhole rosette. The bridge is Thermo Aged Ovangkol fitted with a compensated bone saddle and Ibanez Advantage bridge pins. The nut is bone, cut to 45mm width. Chrome die-cast tuners handle tuning duties. Ibanez strung the guitar at the factory with D'Addario XTAPB1253s gauged .012–.053, at standard tuning. The scale length is 634mm, string spacing at the bridge is 11mm, and the fretboard radius is 400mmR. Neck thickness measures 21mm at the first fret and 22mm at the seventh.
