Ibanez produced the TS808HW as a hand-wired, limited-production variant of the Tube Screamer line, positioned toward the professional end of the series. Where standard Tube Screamer models used conventional PCB construction, the TS808HW was assembled entirely by hand inside a heavy-duty metal enclosure.
The circuit was built around JRC4558D op-amp chips — the same component associated with the original TS808 — and wired throughout with Japanese MOGAMI OFC cable rated at AWG21. Controls cover Overdrive, Tone, and Level. The pedal ships with True Bypass switching, routing the signal directly to the amplifier with no buffering when the effect is disengaged. Power requirements are 8 mA at 9 V, supplied either by a single 9 V battery (006P format) or an external DC 9 V adapter with a negative centre pin.
Owners sourcing a replacement op-amp, bypass switch, or compatible DC adapter should verify component values against the original wiring before substituting parts; a qualified electronics technician or guitar technician familiar with hand-wired signal-chain builds is best placed to assist.
