Ibanez produced the TS808 Tube Screamer Overdrive Pro as a faithful reissue of its original Tube Screamer circuit, positioning it within a lineage that had been widely copied by boutique and modeling pedal makers. The reissue was designed to replicate the smooth, full overdrive character that made the original a reference point for the format.
The TS808 reissue carried the same JRC4558D IC chip and analog circuitry as the original unit. Three controls — Overdrive, Tone, and Level — govern the pedal's output. Power requirements are modest: the unit draws 8mA at 9V and accepts either a standard 9-volt battery (006P) or an external DC 9V adapter with a negative center pin.
