Schecter built the PT Pro (item 863) as a high-specification entry in its PT-series line, a platform rooted in single-cutaway solid-body architecture. The model was positioned above the standard PT offering, distinguishing itself through premium neck materials, USA-voiced pickups, and elevated hardware appointments. The Trans Purple Burst finish was achieved over a quilted maple top laid onto an alder body, with ivory single-ply binding framing the top contour.
The roasted maple neck is carved to a Thin 'C' profile and measures .787" (20mm) at the first fret, rising to .866" (22mm) at the twelfth. It joins the body via a bolt-on construction and carries a 22-fret ebony fretboard with a 14" (355mm) radius and X-Jumbo fret wire — a combination that favours low, fast action and comfortable string bending across the full length of the neck. The 1.653" (42mm) nut is a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq unit, and glow-in-the-dark side dot markers complement the standard dot inlays on the face. String anchor duties fall to a PT-H bridge with stainless steel saddles in a string-through-body configuration; tuning stability is handled by Schecter Locking tuners. Both pickup positions are loaded with Schecter USA Z-Plus™ humbuckers, controlled through a volume knob, a push-pull tone knob, and a 3-way selector switch. Hardware throughout is finished in black. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky (.010–.046) strings at 25.5" (648mm) scale.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — saddles, nut blanks, tuner bushings, or compatible string-through bridge components — should bring the instrument to a qualified guitar technician or luthier who can verify fit against the original hardware dimensions before installation.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
