Schecter positioned the Solo II Custom at the upper tier of its Solo series, building the guitar around a set-neck mahogany body with a flamed maple arched top and white multi-ply binding. The Trans Black Burst finish — the colour shown on item 659 — was produced in South Korea and offered a right-handed configuration.
The three-piece mahogany neck carries a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth, and is fitted with an ebony fretboard. Twenty-two X-Jumbo frets run over a 12"-16" compound radius, referenced from a 1.653" (42mm) Ernie Ball Compensated Nut. The 24.75" (628mm) scale is anchored by a TonePros T3BT tune-o-matic bridge and T1Z tailpiece in chrome, with Schecter Locking tuners at the headstock. Pickups are a Schecter USA Pasadena Plus™ at the bridge and a Schecter USA Pasadena™ at the neck, routed through a Volume/Volume/Tone (Push-Pull)/3-Way Switch control layout with Grip Tip Speed Knobs. The two-way adjustable truss rod accepts a 5/32" (4mm) Allen key. Mother of Pearl block inlays mark the positions. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 strings; the SGR-Solo-II case was sold separately.
