Schecter built the KM-6 MK-III Artist LH as the left-handed expression of the Keith Merrow signature series, positioning it at the artist tier of the KM-6 MK-III line. The instrument featured a neck-thru-body construction with Ultra Access and was produced in South Korea, carrying a Blue Crimson finish over a burl top.
The multi-ply wenge, maple, and purpleheart neck incorporated carbon fiber reinforcement rods and was cut to an Ultra Thin 'C' profile, measuring .763" at the first fret and .822" at the twelfth. A 25.5" scale ebony fretboard carried 24 X-jumbo stainless steel frets over a 12"-16" compound radius, with aluminum offset/reverse circle inlays and glow-in-the-dark side dot markers. The Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut measured 42mm wide. The swamp ash body wore a burl top with black single-ply binding and a radius top contour. Hardware ran throughout in black: a Hipshot Ibby HM bridge, Hipshot Grip-Lock tuners, and Hipshot O-Ring knobs. Electronics centered on a pair of Fishman Fluence Keith Merrow Custom humbuckers wired to a volume control, a 3-way pickup toggle, and a 3-way mini toggle voicing switch offering PAF, Keith Merrow Custom, and single-coil voices. Active electronics drew power from a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. The 2-way adjustable truss rod was accessible via a heel-mounted spoke wheel. The instrument shipped with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings (.010–.046); a case was sold separately.
