Schecter built the KM-7 MK-III Artist LH as a left-handed signature instrument developed in collaboration with Keith Merrow, positioned within Schecter's artist-tier extended-range line. The guitar is a seven-string with a neck-through construction featuring Ultra Access and was produced in South Korea in the Blue Crimson finish.
The multi-ply wenge, maple, and purpleheart neck incorporates carbon fiber reinforcement rods and is profiled in an Ultra Thin 'C' shape measuring .763" at the first fret and .822" at the twelfth. A 26.5" baritone scale runs across a 24-fret ebony fretboard with a 12"-16" compound radius and X-Jumbo stainless steel frets. The nut is a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq at 1.889" width, and tuning is handled by Hipshot Grip-Lock locking tuners. The swamp ash body carries a burl top with a radius contour and black single-ply binding. Both pickup positions house Fishman Fluence Keith Merrow Custom Humbuckers powered by a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment; a 3-way mini toggle voicing switch selects between PAF, Keith Merrow Custom, and single-coil voices. The Hipshot Ibby HM bridge and Hipshot O-Ring knobs are finished in black hardware throughout. Glow-in-the-dark side dot markers and aluminum offset/reverse circle inlays complete the fretboard appointments. The instrument ships without a case; the SGR-UNIVERSAL GUITAR case is sold separately.
