Schecter built the Synyster Gates FR USA Signature as a domestic-production instrument developed in collaboration with Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates. The model sat at the top of the Synyster Gates signature line, distinguished from the import-built variants by its USA country of origin and the elevated specification that accompanied that designation.
The guitar was constructed with a set-neck joint joining a mahogany neck to a mahogany body, with a multi-laminate hardrock maple top featuring black walnut pinstripes. The fretboard is Macassar ebony, carrying 24 Jescar Premium German Silver frets over a 16" radius, with a 1.25" nut width and a Custom Syn C Shape neck profile measuring .785" at the first fret and .835" at the twelfth. Custom Syn inlays mark the fretboard positions. A Floyd Rose Original Tremolo handles pitch at the bridge end, while Schecter/Hipshot Staggered Locking Tuners secure the strings at the headstock. All hardware is finished in black. The HH pickup configuration is driven by a Schecter Synyster Gates Signature engraved humbucker set, controlled via master volume, master tone, and a 3-way toggle switch.
