Schecter positioned the V-1 Custom as a premium entry in its electric guitar line, built in South Korea with a set-neck construction featuring Ultra Access for upper-fret reach. The body was mahogany with a flamed maple top finished in Trans Purple, bound in white multi-ply binding, and configured for right-handed players. The flat-top profile and 24.75-inch scale length placed it firmly in the Gibson-scale tradition.
The three-piece mahogany neck was carved to a Thin 'C' profile — .787 inches at the first fret and .866 inches at the twelfth — and capped with an ebony fretboard carrying mother of pearl block inlays. The 12-to-16-inch compound radius and 22 X-Jumbo frets accommodated both rhythm work and lead playing across the neck. A two-way adjustable truss rod with a 5/32-inch Allen nut allowed straightforward relief adjustment. The 42mm Ernie Ball Compensated Nut fed into Schecter locking tuners, and all hardware was finished in chrome. The TonePros T3BT tune-o-matic bridge used a string-through-body anchor. Electronics consisted of a Schecter USA Pasadena Plus pickup at the bridge and a Schecter USA Pasadena at the neck, routed through a volume/volume/tone (push-pull) arrangement and a three-way switch, with Grip Tip Speed Knobs throughout. Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings (.010–.046) were fitted at the factory.
