The Schecter 6416 Pasadena Bass VP-1 is a replacement single-coil-style bass pickup built around eight hand-beveled Alnico V rod magnets and wound to 10.5k ohms output. The construction uses period-correct materials throughout: vintage fiber bobbins and a conductor cloth-covered pushback wire harness. That wiring drops straight into vintage wiring harnesses without modification and sits cleanly in modern builds too.
Two things decide whether this pickup fits your instrument: pole spacing and string count. The 6416 uses Universal Spacing (Traditional Offset Spacing), which covers a wide range of bass routing configurations, but you still need to verify it against your existing route. Bridge and neck positions use different spacing on many instruments — a pickup specced for one position will leave outer strings sitting off the pole pieces if dropped into the other. This is a six-string-format pickup; seven- and eight-string basses are not compatible. Also check your mounting arrangement before ordering: direct-mount bodies and pickup-ring-mount bodies require different hardware, and the wrong setup means drilling or fabricating a fix.
The Alnico V rod magnets are hand-beveled individually. Alnico V runs higher output and tighter low-end definition than Alnico II or III — at 10.5k ohms this sits in firm, punchy territory rather than vintage-low-wind territory. The cloth pushback wire is ready to solder without stripping.
If you are not certain this is the right part for your bass, send us the make, model, and year and we will tell you before you order.
