Schecter built the Jerry Horton Tempest as a signature instrument for the Papa Roach guitarist, positioned within the Tempest body platform and distinguished from the standard line by its artist-specific pickup set and inlay treatment. It carried item number 358 and was finished in Satin White (SWHT), manufactured in South Korea.
The guitar was constructed with a set-neck joint joining a three-piece mahogany neck to a mahogany body capped with a solid maple arched top, bound in single-ply carbon fiber. The Thin 'C' neck profile measured .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth, with a 24.75" (628mm) scale length, a 14" (355mm) radius ebony fretboard, and 22 X-Jumbo frets. The Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut measured 1.653" (42mm) in width. A two-way adjustable truss rod with a 5/32" (4mm) Allen nut provided neck relief adjustment. Tuning was handled by Schecter locking tuners, and side dots were glow-in-the-dark. The Papa Roach inlay appeared at the twelfth fret. Both positions carried Schecter USA Jerry Horton humbuckers, routed through a volume/volume/tone (push-pull)/3-way switch control layout with Grip Tip Speed Knobs; all hardware was finished in black. The bridge was a TonePros T3BT tune-o-matic paired with a T1Z tailpiece. Strings were factory-fitted with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 (.010–.046). The SGR-4T case was sold separately.
