Schecter positioned the Ultra Bass as a high-specification, neck-through electric bass within its line, built in South Korea and finished here in Satin White. The instrument was designed around a long 34-inch scale and a neck-through construction with Ultra Access, giving reach to the upper register of its 20-fret ebony fretboard.
The five-piece Mahogany/Maple neck incorporates Carbon Fiber Reinforcement Rods and is shaped to a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth. The 16" fretboard radius and X-Jumbo frets are complemented by a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut at 1.496" width. Hardware throughout is black, including the Open Gear Lightweight tuners and the Schecter Custom Bass bridge, which accepts both string-through-body and top-load stringing. Both pickup positions carry EMG TBHZ pickups, controlled by a Volume/Volume/Tone arrangement with Grip Tip Speed Knobs. The mahogany body features a flat top with a raised centre and white single-ply binding. Ernie Ball 4-String Super Long strings (.045–.105) were fitted as standard, and the two-way adjustable truss rod is accessed via a 5/32" Allen nut.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, EMG TBHZ pickups, or compatible string-through bridge saddles — should verify dimensions against the specs above and consult a qualified bass technician for setup and installation work.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
