Schecter positioned the C-1 Exotic Spalted Maple as a visually elevated entry in the C-1 series, pairing a figured spalted maple top over a mahogany body with a bolt-on roasted maple and purpleheart multi-ply neck reinforced with carbon fiber rods. The Satin Natural Vintage Burst finish was designed to let the natural spalting pattern of the top read through the finish. The guitar was built in Indonesia and offered exclusively in right-handed configuration.
The neck carries a Thin 'C' profile measuring .748" at the first fret and .787" at the twelfth, mounted to a 25.5" scale ebony fretboard with 24 X-Jumbo frets at a 14" radius and abalone line inlays. Nut duties fall to a Graph Tech XL Ivory Tusq unit at 1.653" width, with Schecter locking tuners at the headstock. The Wilkinson WVS50IIK tremolo bridges the lower bout, and electronics consist of a Schecter Diamond '78 Special at the bridge and a Schecter Diamond '78 at the neck, governed by a volume control, tone control, 3-way pickup selector, and a 2-way coil split toggle. Hardware is finished in a black and chrome combination. Cream 1-ply binding runs the fretboard edge, and the arched top contour is dressed with the same cream binding. Strings from the factory were Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046. A case was sold separately (SGR-1C).
