Schecter positioned the Hellcat-VI as a baritone-scale electric guitar built around a 30-inch scale length, placing it in the company's extended-range catalogue. The bolt-on construction, swamp ash body with flat top, and ivory 1-ply binding gave the instrument a distinct visual and tonal character, while the 3-Tone Sunburst Pearl finish distinguished this particular variant within the Hellcat-VI colour lineup.
The maple neck, reinforced with carbon fiber rods, carried a C-profile with measured thicknesses of .826" at the first fret and .905" at the twelfth, mated to a pau ferro fretboard with 22 X-Jumbo frets at a 12" radius and mother of pearl dot inlays. The 1.653" nut width at the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut accommodates the instrument's extended string spacing. Three Schecter USA MonsterTone Stack pickups ran through a control layout of volume, tone, a 5-way pickup switch, and three individual on-off coil-split slider switches, with nickel hardware throughout. The TonePros bridge system with custom brass saddles and Grover Vintage Deluxe tuners completed the hardware complement. Schecter specified Ernie Ball Hellcat VI Custom strings gauged 90-75-56-44-34-24 for this scale length. The instrument was manufactured in South Korea. A universal bass case was sold separately.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut blanks, TonePros-compatible saddles, or Grover Vintage Deluxe tuner buttons — should verify dimensions against the original hardware before fitting; a qualified guitar technician or luthier can assist with setup, intonation, and truss rod adjustment using the specified 5/32" (4mm) Allen key.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
