Schecter positioned the CV-4 as a vintage-styled four-string bass within its lineup, assigning it item number 2491 and finishing it in 3-Tone Sunburst. The instrument was built in Indonesia with a bolt-on neck construction secured by six bolts, and an ash body with a flat top contour.
The maple neck carries carbon fiber reinforcement rods and a Thin 'C' profile, measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .905" (23mm) at the twelfth. A separate maple fretboard hosts 22 narrow X-Jumbo frets at a 10" (254mm) radius, with offset dot inlays and a Graph Tech XL Ivory Tusq nut at 1.653" (42mm) wide. Scale length runs 34" (863mm). The two-way adjustable truss rod is accessed at the heel via a 5/32" (4mm) Allen nut. Both the bridge and neck positions carry Schecter Diamond J-Bucker pickups, routed through a Volume/Tone/3-Way Switch arrangement supplemented by individual 3-Way Series-Split-Parallel switches for each pickup — a combination that broadens the available tonal palette considerably. Hardware throughout is chrome, including the S-Tek bridge and metal knurled knobs with set screws. Schecter specified Ernie Ball 4-String Super Long strings (.045–.105) at the factory.
