Schecter built the Nikki Stringfield A-6 FR S as a signature model, positioning it at the upper tier of their artist series. The instrument carries a set-neck construction with Ultra Access heel treatment, a swamp ash body with a quilted maple top, and a three-piece maple neck reinforced with carbon fiber rods — a build specification oriented toward players who demand stability alongside a slim feel.
The neck carries an Ultra Thin 'C' profile measuring .748" at the first fret and .787" at the twelfth, topped with an ebony fretboard cut to a 12"-16" compound radius and loaded with 24 X-Jumbo frets. The nut width sits at 1.625" (41.3mm) and the Floyd Rose 1500 Series locking nut feeds a matching Floyd Rose 1500 Series bridge across a 25.5" (648mm) scale. Inlay work combines abalone 'Vine of Life' patterning with Mother of Pearl 'Hell's Gate Skull' figures; side dots are glow-in-the-dark. The neck position carries a Sustainiac pickup with its own dedicated two-position on/off switch and a three-position mode switch covering Fundamental, Mix, and Harmonic modes; the bridge position uses a Seymour Duncan Invader SH-8. A 9-volt clip-in battery compartment powers the Sustainiac system. Hardware throughout is chrome, binding is carbon fiber multi-ply, and Grover tuners are fitted at the headstock. The model was finished in Bright Red Burst.
Owners requiring setup work, Floyd Rose adjustments, Sustainiac system servicing, or parts sourcing should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with double-locking tremolo systems and active pickup electronics.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
