Description

Schecter built the CV-5 as a five-string electric bass positioned within its Classic Vibe series. The instrument was constructed with a bolt-on neck joint secured by six bolts, pairing an ash body with a maple neck reinforced by carbon fiber rods and a maple fretboard.

The CV-5 carried a 35-inch scale length suited to five-string tension, with a Thin 'C' neck profile measuring .787 inches at the first fret and .905 inches at the twelfth. The fretboard featured a 10-inch radius, 22 narrow extra-jumbo frets, and offset dot inlays. Nut duties were handled by a Graph Tech XL Ivory Tusq unit at 1.771 inches wide. Both pickup positions received Schecter Diamond J-Bucker humcancelling pickups, with the control layout offering a volume, a tone, a 3-way selector switch, and individual 3-way series-split-parallel switches for each pickup — providing a wide range of tonal configurations from a single instrument.
