Schecter built the Robin Zander Corsair as a signature instrument for the Cheap Trick vocalist, positioning it within the company's artist series as a semi-hollowbody archtop design. The model carried item number 2242 and was produced in South Korea. It sat apart from Schecter's more conventional solid-body offerings, reflecting Zander's association with a vintage archtop aesthetic while retaining modern playability features.
The maple body features an arched top with cream multi-ply binding and a set mahogany three-piece neck finished in a Thin 'C' profile — measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth. The ebony fretboard runs 14" radius across 22 medium frets, with mother-of-pearl star inlays and a personalised "RZ" marker at the twelfth fret. Nut duties fall to a Graph Tech XL Ivory Tusq unit at 1.653" width, and a two-way adjustable truss rod is accessed via a 5/32" Allen nut. The 24.75" scale pairs with a Bigsby Archtop B70 vibrato and roller tune-o-matic bridge. Both pickup positions carry Seymour Duncan Phat Cat SPH90-1 units — the bridge version in the bridge slot, the neck-voiced SPH90-1N at the neck — controlled through an independent volume and tone for each pickup plus a three-way toggle. Gold hardware throughout includes Grover tuners and Grip Tip Speed knobs. The guitar ships strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046 strings; the SGR-12 Corsair case is sold separately.
