Description

Schecter built the Tommy Victor Devil-FR as a signature model for Tommy Victor, positioning it as a high-output, Floyd Rose–equipped instrument within its artist signature line. The guitar was produced in South Korea and finished in Satin Black.

The body is mahogany with a flat top and sculptured edges, joined to a three-piece mahogany neck via a set-neck construction with Ultra Access. The ebony fretboard runs 25.5" (648mm) and carries 24 X-Jumbo frets at a 16" (406mm) radius, with a Mother of Pearl prong inlay at the 12th fret. The Thin 'C' neck profile measures .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth. A Floyd Rose 1500 Series bridge and locking nut handle tuning stability, and Grover tuners are fitted at the headstock. Electronics consist of an EMG 81 at the bridge and an EMG 85 at the neck, each active and drawing from a 9-volt clip-in battery compartment. Controls are routed through a volume/volume/tone arrangement and a 3-way pickup selector. All hardware is finished in black chrome, and the knobs are metal knurled with set screws. The factory string set is Ernie Ball Regular Slinky .010–.046.

Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Floyd Rose 1500 Series bridge accepts standard Floyd Rose–compatible saddles and springs, and the 1.625" (41.3mm) locking nut is sized accordingly. The 2-way truss rod is adjusted with a 5/32" (4mm) allen wrench. For setup, intonation, or active electronics service, consult a qualified guitar technician.

The owner archive

From the people who own them

Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.

Put yours on the record.

The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.

What do you know about this one?

Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
