Schecter positioned the Omen-7 as an entry-level seven-string solidbody in its Omen series, manufactured in Indonesia with a bolt-on construction. The model carried a Basswood body with an arched top, a black 1-ply binding, and was finished in Walnut Satin.
The maple neck is profiled in a Thin 'C' shape, measuring .787" (20mm) at the first fret and .866" (22mm) at the twelfth, and is fitted with a rosewood fretboard carrying 24 X-Jumbo frets at a 16" (406mm) radius with Pearloid Semi-Goth inlays. The extended 26.5" (673mm) scale is suited to seven-string tension. Nut duties fall to a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq unit at 1.889" (48mm) width, and the neck accepts truss-rod adjustment via a 2-Way Adjustable Rod with a 5/32" (4mm) Allen nut. Hardware throughout is finished in black chrome. The Schecter Custom Hardtail bridge loads strings through the body, and both pickup positions carry Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers, controlled by a volume, a tone, and a 3-way switch — all with metal knurled set-screw knobs. Schecter tuners complete the hardware complement. The instrument shipped strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7 strings (#2621, .010–.056).
