Schecter built the SLS Elite-5 LH as a left-handed, five-string electric bass positioned at the upper tier of the SLS (Super-Light Series) Elite line. The neck-through-body construction with Ultra Access and an arched flamed maple top over a swamp ash body reflected the model's premium standing within the range. Country of origin was South Korea.
The multi-ply maple, walnut, and padauk neck incorporated carbon fiber reinforcement rods and carried a Thin 'C' profile measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth. An ebony fretboard with a 16" radius held 24 X-jumbo stainless steel frets and abalone offset/reverse dot inlays. The Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut measured 1.771" wide — a specification relevant to any replacement nut sourcing. A 2-way adjustable truss rod with heel-access spoke wheel serviced the neck. The 35" scale Schecter Custom Bass bridge accepted either string-through-body or top-load stringing with Ernie Ball 5-String Super Long #2850 gauge strings (.045–.130) as the factory fit. Grover Bass 144 Series tuners and all-black hardware dressed the instrument, with ivory single-ply binding at the body edge. Electronics consisted of dual Fishman Fluence Bass Soapbar pickups running through a master volume (push-pull for single-coil voicing), a blend control, a 2-band Fishman EQ, and a 3-way toggle voicing switch offering Classic, Funk, and Modern modes. The circuit runs on a single 9-volt battery via a clip-in compartment.
