Schecter built the SLS Elite-4 LH as a left-handed entry in its SLS Elite bass line, positioning it as a high-specification instrument with active electronics and a neck-through construction. The body is Swamp Ash with a Flamed Maple top and Ivory 1-ply binding, finished in Black Fade Burst. Construction follows a neck-through-body approach with Schecter's Ultra Access heel joint. The neck is a multi-ply Maple, Walnut, and Padauk assembly reinforced with Carbon Fiber Rods, profiled in a Thin 'C' shape measuring .787" at the first fret and .866" at the twelfth.
The 34" scale Ebony fretboard carries 24 X-Jumbo Stainless Steel frets at a 16" radius, with Abalone Offset/Reverse Dot inlays and matching Abalone side dots. The nut is a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq at 1.496" width, and the truss rod is a two-way adjustable unit with heel-access spoke wheel. Both pickups are Fishman Fluence Bass Soapbars. The control layout offers a Master Volume with Push-Pull single-coil switching, a Blend control, a two-band Fishman EQ, and a three-way Toggle Voicing Switch selecting Classic, Funk, or Modern voices. The bridge is a Schecter Custom Bass unit that accepts either string-through-body or top-load stringing. Tuning machines are Grover Bass 144 Series. All hardware is finished in black. Power is supplied by a 9-volt battery via a clip-in compartment. The instrument ships strung with Ernie Ball 4 String Super Long #2849 (.045–.105).
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including Fishman Fluence components, Graph Tech nuts, or Grover tuner hardware — should consult a qualified bass technician to confirm compatibility with this instrument's specific configuration.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
