Hagstrom produced the Swede as a single-cutaway electric guitar positioned within its line as an instrument drawing on the company's Scandinavian heritage. The model carried the set-neck construction and mahogany top that distinguished it from bolt-on alternatives in the range, and the 24.75-inch scale length placed it in familiar territory for players accustomed to that standard.
The Resinator fingerboard material and H-Expander truss rod were Hagstrom's own proprietary solutions, fitted across the neck alongside 22 medium-jumbo frets, pearl block inlays, a 15-inch radius, and a GraphTech Black Tusq XL nut at 43 mm width. Two Hagstrom Custom 58 AlNiCo humbucking pickups fed a control layout of two volume and two tone pots, a 3-way toggle pickup selector, and a separate 3-way Sound Filter toggle switch. The Long Travel Tune-O-Matic bridge with Hagstrom stop tailpiece and single brass string blocks handled intonation and string anchoring, while Hagstrom Design 18:1 tuning keys handled pitch stability. The guitar was strung from the factory with D'Addario EXP 110 10-46 strings. An optional hard case (C51) and optional gig bag (E20) were available accessories for the model.
Owners sourcing replacement hardware should note that the Long Travel Tune-O-Matic bridge accepts strings within the standard tune-o-matic spacing family, and the 43 mm nut width will govern nut replacement choices.
