DigiTech positioned the Whammy DT (WHAMMYDT-U) as an expansion of the established Whammy line, combining the classic pitch shifting function of earlier Whammy pedals with drop tuning and raised tuning capabilities in a single unit. The addition of true bypass distinguished it from prior iterations in the family.
The pedal offered a pitch bend range of +2 to -3 octaves and a detune range of -4 to -30 cents. Drop tuning covered 1–7 semitones, an octave, and an octave-plus-dry voicing. Signal conversion ran at 24-bit D/A with a 44.1 kHz sample rate, and the frequency response spanned 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The instrument input accepted a 1/4" unbalanced TS signal at up to +5 dBu across a 1 MΩ input impedance, while the output delivered up to +10 dBu into a 1 kΩ output impedance via a 1/4" unbalanced TS jack. MIDI control was available through a 5-pin DIN input, and the 1/4" TRS footswitch input accommodated the optional FS3X footpedal. Power draw was rated at 2.6 watts, supplied by a 9 VDC external adapter. The unit measured 2.36" (H) × 8.2" (W) × 7.73" (D).
Owners requiring calibration, bypass modification, or internal servicing should consult a qualified guitar technician or electronics repair professional familiar with effects pedal circuitry.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
