DigiTech produced the TRIO-U Band Creator as a guitar effects pedal designed to generate automatic bass and drum accompaniment by analysing the player's chord voicings and rhythmic feel. It occupied a utility-focused position in DigiTech's effects line, aimed at guitarists practising or performing without a live rhythm section.
The pedal offered seven music genres — Blues, Pop, Alternative Rock, Rock, Country, R&B, and Jazz — with up to twelve song styles available within each genre. Time signature selection covered 3/4 and 4/4. The TRIO-U could store up to three distinct song parts, recallable during playback. Built-in guitar effects were included, relative to the selected music genre. The control surface comprised Genre, Style, Tempo, Bass, and Drums knobs alongside Guitar FX, Song Part, and Alt Time buttons, plus a dedicated Headphone Volume control and a soft-click, vacuum-style footswitch for teach/playback toggling. Connectivity spanned a ¼" instrument input, a ¼" TRS control input for an optional DigiTech FS3X footswitch, separate ¼" amplifier and mixer outputs, and a 1/8" stereo headphone output. The unit required an external 9 VDC power supply; no battery operation was specified. The TRIO-U finish was black.
Owners requiring setup assistance, internal service, or help sourcing compatible footswitches and power supplies should consult a qualified guitar technician or electronics service professional familiar with effects pedal units.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
