DigiTech positioned the JamMan Vocal XT (JMVXT-U) as a compact looper designed specifically for vocalists, extending the JamMan looper family beyond guitar-oriented units. It accepted XLR microphone signals directly, processed them through a built-in dbx microphone preamplifier, and returned the signal via a balanced XLR output — making it a self-contained mic preamp and looper in a single small unit.
The preamp section offered up to +40 dB of mic-level gain with 45V phantom power for condenser microphones. The unit recorded at 46.8 kHz/24-bit with a frequency response of +0/−3 dB across 20–20 kHz and a signal-to-noise ratio of −100 dB. Maximum individual loop time was 10 minutes in stereo. The JamSync feature allowed the JMVXT-U to synchronize automatically with compatible JamMan units — specifically the Vocal XT, JamMan Express XT, and JamMan Solo XT — enabling independently recorded but tempo-locked loops across multiple devices. A Silent Clear function allowed a recorded phrase to be erased without requiring playback first. The unit drew fewer than 200 mA typical and was powered by the PS0913DC-01 supply, accepting 100–240 VAC worldwide input and outputting 9 VDC at 1.3 A.
