Cort built the X700 Duality as the flagship model of the X Series, positioning it at the top of that line with boutique-grade materials, premium hardware, and Seymour Duncan pickup specification.
The bolt-on neck is a three-piece construction combining Maple and Panga Panga, joined to a Swamp Ash body capped with a flamed Maple top. The fretboard is Ebony, carrying 24 frets over a 648 mm (25.5") scale length. Tremolo duties are handled by the Cort CFA-III unit, paired with Cort staggered locking machineheads finished in Chrome. The pickup complement consists of a Seymour Duncan SH-2N in the neck position and a TB-4 in the bridge, selected via a 5-way toggle switch with one volume and one tone control. The guitar shipped strung with D'Addario YB EXL120s.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including tremolo saddles, locking tuner buttons, or Ebony-appropriate fretboard care products — should verify compatibility against the specific components listed above. For setup, nut work, or tremolo calibration, consult a qualified guitar technician.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
