Cort built the X700 Duality as the flagship model of the X Series line. The instrument combined boutique-grade tonewoods, high-specification hardware and Seymour Duncan pickups, positioned at the top of what was a long-running and well-regarded series.
The body pairs a flamed maple top with a swamp ash core, joined to a three-piece maple and panga panga neck via a bolt-on construction. The ebony fretboard carries 24 frets over a 648 mm (25.5") scale. The Cort CFA-III tremolo bridge and Cort staggered locking machineheads handle tuning stability. Pickup selection runs through a Seymour Duncan SH2N in the neck position and a TB4 in the bridge, controlled by a 5-way toggle switch alongside one volume and one tone control. Hardware throughout is finished in chrome. The guitar shipped strung with D'Addario YB EXL120s.
Owners seeking setup assistance, tremolo calibration or fretwork should consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with bolt-on double-locking or floating tremolo systems.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
