Cort built the CR250-DBB as part of the CR (Classic Rock) Series, positioning it as a set-neck electric guitar drawing on the tonal and aesthetic character of vintage instruments from the Golden Era of electric guitars. Within the CR Series lineup, the CR250 sat as a mid-tier offering centred on PAF-inspired humbucker performance.
The guitar pairs a mahogany body with a flamed maple top and a set mahogany neck, with ivory binding and rectangular white pearl inlays on a jatoba fretboard. The fretboard carries a 305mm (12") radius across 22 frets, with a 42mm (1.65") nut width — a Graph-Tech Nubone nut specifically — and a 628mm (24.75") scale length. Hardware runs throughout in nickel, anchored by a tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece, with vintage-style tuners. The Voiced Tone VTH-59 pickups are Alnico II–loaded, wound with 0.06" custom-gauge coils, and are described as PAF-inspired. Controls are arranged as two volume and two tone pots with a three-way selector switch. The guitar shipped with D'Addario XL110 strings.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece accept standard TOM-pattern components, and the 42mm nut width is compatible with widely available pre-slotted or blank nut stock of that dimension. For setup, intonation, or hardware replacement work, consulting a qualified guitar technician is recommended.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
