Cort built the X100-OPBK as the entry-level model in the X Series electric guitar line, positioning it to share the playability characteristics of the higher-end X Series models at an accessible tier. It was offered in three open pore finishes: Black, Black Cherry Burst, and Black Burst.
The guitar is constructed with a bolt-on hard rock maple neck and a meranti body. The jatoba fingerboard carries a 400 mm (15.75") radius across 24 frets over a 648 mm (25.5") scale length. Two Powersound humbuckers handle pickup duties, routed through a controls layout of one volume, one tone, and a three-way selector switch. The 6-point tremolo bridge and die-cast tuners are finished in black hardware throughout.
