Cort developed the LUXE-NAT as a signature acoustic-electric guitar in collaboration with guitarist Frank Gambale, who had direct input on the instrument's design details. The model sat within Cort's Frank Gambale Series and was built around a concert body with a Florentine cutaway.
The top is solid Adirondack Spruce, paired with flamed Blackwood back and sides. The Mahogany (Palaquium) neck carries an Ebony fretboard with 20 frets over a 643mm (25.3") scale, with a nut width of 43mm (1 11/16"). Fretboard inlay and the wooden rosette were custom designs attributed to Gambale. A Graph-Tech Black TUSQ nut and saddle are fitted as standard. Hardware runs to gold tuners, an Ebony bridge, and tortoise binding throughout. Electronics are handled by an L.R. Baggs EAS-VTC EQ. The instrument ships strung with D'Addario coated strings in a custom gauge set: 010, 014, 018 (plain), 030, 039, 047. The finish is described as a Sonically Enhanced UV Finish in a Natural Glossy presentation.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — including TUSQ nut and saddle blanks, L.R. Baggs EAS-VTC components, or Ebony bridge pins — should cross-reference Cort's original hardware specifications and consult a qualified luthier or guitar technician for fitting and setup work.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
