Cort built the GOLD-D6-NAT as part of its Gold Series, a line centred on the Aged to Vintage (ATV) treatment applied to the solid Sitka spruce top. The ATV process functions as a torrefaction, allowing the Grade A+ top to cure and open up tonally over time. The dreadnought body pairs that treated spruce top with solid African Mahogany (Okoume) back and sides, with the mahogany contributing a warm, reinforced midrange character. A UV finish protects the instrument without, according to Cort's own materials, compromising its tonal properties. The guitar is finished in Natural Glossy.
Construction uses a Double-Lock Neck Joint and hand-scalloped X-bracing. The neck is Mahogany (Palaquium), topped with a Macassar Ebony fretboard carrying 20 frets at a 643mm (25.3") scale length. The 43mm nut width is a standard narrow acoustic width. Hardware includes deluxe vintage gold tuners, a Macassar Ebony bridge, an abalone rosette, and Gold Custom MOP inlays. Black binding with triple-ply purfling edges the body. The guitar shipped with D'Addario EXP16 Light strings.
Owners seeking setup adjustments, fret work, or replacement parts compatible with Macassar Ebony bridges, standard acoustic tuner footprints, or 43mm nuts should consult a qualified luthier or guitar technician for guidance.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
