Cort built the GA-MY-BEVEL-NAT as part of the Grand Regal Series, positioning it as a full-featured acoustic-electric Grand Auditorium with a Venetian cutaway and a beveled armrest — details that place it above the brand's entry-level acoustic offerings. The arched Myrtlewood back and Myrtlewood sides were a deliberate tonal choice; Cort described Myrtlewood's character as combining qualities of Mahogany, Rosewood and Maple, yielding a clear, bright fundamental with strong projection and sustain. Electronics are handled by an L.R.Baggs EAS-VTC system, factory-fitted for amplified use.
The top is solid Sitka Spruce, joined to the body via a dovetail neck joint. The Mahogany (Palaquium) neck carries an Ovangkol fretboard with 20 frets over a 643mm (25.3") scale, and the nut width measures 43mm (1 11/16"). Hardware runs to die-cast gold tuners with black knobs, an Ovangkol bridge with ebony pins, an abalone rosette, and black binding throughout. The instrument ships strung with D'Addario EXP16s.
Owners sourcing replacement parts — bridge pins, tuner buttons, nut blanks or strap buttons — should verify dimensions against their specific instrument before ordering, as tolerances can vary. For setup work, intonation adjustments or electronics servicing, consult a qualified guitar technician familiar with acoustic-electric instruments.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
