Cort built the EARTH70-MH as part of its Earth Series, a line conceived as a tribute to vintage acoustic guitars. The dreadnought was positioned to deliver the look, sound, feel, and playability associated with those instruments while maintaining consistent build quality throughout the range.
The guitar is constructed with a solid African Mahogany (Okoume) top joined to African Mahogany back and sides, supported by Advanced X-Bracing. The neck is Mahogany (Palaquium), joined to the body via a dovetail neck joint, and carries an Ovangkol fretboard with dot inlays across 20 frets. The scale runs 643mm (25.3") with a 43mm nut width. An Ovangkol bridge, ivory body binding, and die-cast tuners complete the hardware complement. The guitar ships strung with D'Addario EXP16 strings. Cort applied an open-pore finish to the body, a construction choice the Earth Series was noted for in connection with allowing the mahogany to resonate freely.
