Cort built the EARTH-PACK-OP as part of the Earth Series, a line conceived as an homage to vintage acoustic guitars. The series was positioned to offer the look, sound, feel, and playability associated with those instruments. The EARTH-PACK-OP is a dreadnought-body semi-solid acoustic guitar finished in an open pore treatment, and was bundled as a complete starter package.
Construction centres on a solid spruce top with mahogany back, sides, and neck, braced with Cort's Advanced X-Bracing pattern. The rosewood fretboard runs 20 frets at a 643mm (25.3") scale, with a 43mm nut width and small dot inlays. The bridge is rosewood. Strings fitted at the factory were D'Addario USA EXP16 Light gauge. The package included a gig bag, chromatic tuner, picks, a spare set of strings, and an instructional DVD.
