Cort built the AF510-E-OP as part of its Standard Series, described as the brand's oldest acoustic series. The model sat at the accessible end of Cort's acoustic range, positioned for beginners and hobbyists, and carried an electro-acoustic concert body configuration.
Construction centres on a dovetail neck joint joining a mahogany (Palaquium) neck to the concert body. The top is spruce, braced with Advanced X-Bracing, while back and sides are African mahogany (Okoume). Black binding trims the body. The fretboard and bridge are both Merbau, with dot inlays and 20 frets across a 43mm (1 11/16") nut width. Electronics consist of a ceramic pickup feeding a Cort CE304T preamp. The guitar shipped with coated strings.
