Washburn built the WLO10SCE-O-U as part of the Woodline Series, positioning it as an orchestra-body cutaway acoustic-electric at the accessible end of the line. The guitar combined a solid-top construction with onboard electronics, targeting players who moved between quiet practice and amplified performance settings.
The soundboard is solid select-grade Sitka spruce, braced with Cathedral Peaked Scalloped-X bracing and finished in gloss. Mahogany back, sides, and neck — the neck fitted with a two-way truss rod and a satin finish — support the top, while an Ovangkol fretboard and bridge carry 20 frets over a 25-5/16" scale. Dot inlays mark the positions, and the nut is GraphTech NuBone at 1-11/16" width. Walnut binding trims the body. The rosette is a Washburn Parquet design. Chrome die-cast tuners and chrome hardware complete the hardware complement. D'Addario EXP light-gauge phosphor bronze strings were fitted at the factory. The Fishman Presys II 301T preamp provides volume, bass, treble, and phase controls alongside a built-in tuner. Pre-CITES production examples used a rosewood fretboard and bridge in place of Ovangkol.
