The spring claw sits in the rear cavity of the body and anchors the tremolo springs that counterbalance the bridge. When the claw is stripped, cracked, or missing its screws, the springs have nothing solid to pull against and the bridge will not level or return to pitch. This is the Floyd Rose Original series replacement claw, supplied as a set of one steel claw and two mounting screws.
Before ordering, check two things. First, the claw's mounting screws have to line up with the existing holes in your body cavity — if those holes are stripped out rather than the claw itself, the claw is not the problem. Second, claw position matters: if your current claw is already wound nearly all the way out and the bridge still sits too high, adding or removing a spring will do more than repositioning a new claw. A claw that runs out of travel before the bridge levels means the spring count is wrong for your tuning and string gauge, not that the claw is faulty.
The claw is steel. The screws included are the correct type for the Floyd Rose Original series mounting geometry, so you are not adapting hardware from another series.
If you are not certain this claw is correct for your specific guitar, send us the make, model, and year and we will confirm the fit before you order.
