Washburn built the PXS10EC as part of its Parallaxe Series, positioning the model as a high-output, extended-range-friendly electric guitar within that line. The body carries a double-cutaway PXS shape and is constructed from alder, paired with a maple neck.
The ebony fretboard runs 24 frets across a 25.5-inch scale, with small dot inlays and a dedicated Parallaxe inlay at the 12th fret. The nut is graphite, cut to 43 mm width. Electronics consist of an EMG 85 in the neck position and an EMG 81 at the bridge, selectable via a 3-way toggle; each pickup is also independently accessible through a push/pull volume and tone control that switches between series and parallel modes. Hardware is finished in black chrome throughout, with a tune-o-matic bridge and black locking Grover Exclusive tuners at an 18:1 gear ratio. The guitar shipped in a matte Carbon Black finish with D'Addario EXL120 light-gauge strings installed.
