Ibanez built the S670QMDEB as part of its S Series line, a range long associated with slim, lightweight construction and extended upper-fret access. The model carried a Quilted Maple top over a Meranti body, finished in Dragon Eye Burst, and was fitted with a Wizard III Maple neck — the thin, fast profile that became a defining characteristic of the S Series.
The bound Jatoba fretboard runs 24 jumbo frets at a 400mm radius, with a locking nut measuring 43mm wide at the first fret and a scale length of 648mm (25.5"). The Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge provides the vibrato system, with 10.8mm string spacing, and hardware throughout is finished in Cosmo black. Pickup configuration is HSH: Quantum ceramic humbuckers at the neck and bridge, and a Quantum Alnico single-coil in the middle — all passive. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario EXL120s (.009–.042) in standard E tuning.
Owners sourcing replacement parts should note that the Edge-Zero II tremolo accepts components specific to that system; a qualified guitar technician can advise on compatible saddles, tremolo arms, and locking nut blocks. Fretwork and neck adjustments on the Wizard III profile are best carried out by a luthier familiar with thin, high-fret-count necks.
