Ibanez built the RGA42HPSFM as part of the RGA Series, a line positioned around a fixed-bridge, high-output configuration aimed at players requiring tuning stability and extended upper-fret access. The model carried DiMarzio Fusion Edge humbuckers at both neck and bridge positions and was finished in Sea Foam Green Matte.
The guitar was constructed with a Nyatoh body and a Wizard III neck in Roasted Maple, a profile Ibanez developed for its slim, fast feel. The Jatoba fretboard carried off-set white dot inlays across 24 jumbo frets at a 400mm radius, with a nut width of 43mm and a 648mm (25.5") scale length. The F106 bridge was set to a 10.5mm string spacing. Both DiMarzio Fusion Edge pickups are passive, ceramic-magnet humbuckers. Hardware throughout was finished in gold. The guitar left the factory strung with D'Addario EXL110s (.010–.046) in standard E tuning.
Owners requiring replacement parts — including F106 bridge components, DiMarzio Fusion Edge pickup units, or Jatoba fretboard work — should consult a qualified luthier or guitar technician, as sourcing and fitting will depend on current parts availability.
STRAIGHT TALK
What Stands Out
Keep In Mind
From the people who own them
Nothing in The Vault is for sale. These records exist so the instruments stay documented after the manufacturer moves on — and the most useful part of that record is what owners add to it.
Owner photos
Put yours on the record.
The catalog shot showed one finish, under one light, a long time ago. Yours has been played. Photos from owners are what the next person finds when they are trying to identify a part, match a finish, or work out whether the one they just bought is really what the seller said it was.
What do you know about this one?
Specs only go so far. What actually fits, what breaks first, what the factory got right and what everyone ends up changing — that lives with the people who own them, not in a datasheet. Post what you know and it stays on this page for whoever comes looking next.
